As part of the project Cybersecurity Policy Simulations in country specific contexts funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the SNV project team is hosting an expert workshop on "Virtual Cybersecurity Policy Simulations as a Tool – Questions of Design for Country-Specific Simulations". Different types of simulations have been applied to the field of cybersecurity in the past. Depending on the context, simulations can, for example, be used to educate, draft policies or test policies. The variety of simulation types and potential uses by different (cybersecurity) stakeholders results in a broad and complex field.
Therefore, we have three goals for this interactive workshop: (1) To define cybersecurity policy simulations and their main elements. (2) To ask how reflecting on a simulation can act as a common element for comparison between country-specific simulations. And (3) to find out how simulations can be carried-out remotely and address the potential challenges and benefits of a virtual setting.
The workshop is by invite-only but results of the workshop will be made available publicly via a study next year.
