Julia Hess & Maria Nowicka speak on the environmental implications of Europe’s AI infrastructure expansion

Julia Christina Hess and Maria Nowicka will present at the VOILA! Seminar Series, organised by EFELIA Côte d’Azur and the Chair of Economics of AI and Innovation. Their talk will examine the environmental implications of the AI-driven build-out of compute infrastructure. Drawing on research from interface’s Global Chip Dynamics Programme, they will highlight how decisions around expanding compute infrastructure shape broader policy trade-offs across AI, semiconductors, and energy.
