The EU’s cybersecurity rulebook has grown at remarkable speed in recent years. While this expansion has driven meaningful progress, it has also added layers of complexity. With major initiatives such as NIS2, DORA, CER, and the Cyber Solidarity Act now shaping the landscape, it has become increasingly challenging to understand how these elements fit together. Yet a clear overview of the policy framework and key actors is essential for effective implementation and for developing coherent, sustainable cybersecurity strategies across the EU and its Member States.
To support policymakers, practitioners, and researchers in navigating this evolving environment, interface has launched a new interactive microsite: the EU Cybersecurity Policy Directory — now available at www.cyber-policy-directory.eu.
Building on insights from our 2024 publication Navigating the EU Cybersecurity Policy Ecosystem, the directory presents the most comprehensive and publicly accessible compilation of EU cybersecurity regulation and policy to date.
What the Directory Offers
-
A fully searchable and filterable policy database, including proposed legislative initiatives, summaries of legal acts, and links to primary documents.
-
Profiles of key institutional actors involved in shaping the EU’s cybersecurity architecture.
-
Pointers to essential EU resources, plus an overview of abbreviations and definitions commonly used across policy documents.
-
A background section explaining the evolution of the EU cybersecurity ecosystem and the characteristics of various legal and policy instruments.
Our goal is to provide a practical, structured, and user-friendly tool to help stakeholders make sense of the EU cybersecurity landscape.
As the field continues to develop, we welcome feedback on additional documents to include, emerging developments to watch, or ideas for improving the directory.
