At the 13th EDEN Conference on Data Protection in Law Enforcement, held at Europol's headquarters in The Hague, Thorsten Wetzling moderates the panel "Law Enforcement and National Security in the Fight Against Serious Crime and Terrorism". It features distinguished speakers Erin M. Prest from the FBI, Jürgen Ebner from Europol, and Thomas Zerdick from EDPS.
The conference, themed "Data Protection & Cyber Security as Law Enforcement Core Business", is organized by ERA (Cornelia Riehle) in cooperation with the Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN). It addresses data protection and cybersecurity implications for law enforcement in the following contextual areas: quantum computing and data security, policing UEFA/Olympics, AI, identity theft, disinformation, Law Enforcement and National Security in the Fight against Serious Crime & Terrorism, and Law Enforcement DPOs. Discussions are held among law enforcement officials, data protection officers, members of Europol’s Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN), representatives of national data protection authorities, and academics.
