ENISA Panel Discussion: Harmonizing EU Cybersecurity Support for NIS2 Implementation without adding Bureaucracy

On October 7, 2025, Christina Rupp moderated a panel discussion on harmonizing EU cybersecurity support for NIS2 implementation, which was organized by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) at it-sa Expo&Congress in Nuremberg, Germany. The group of panelists consisted of Hans de Vries from ENISA, Dr. Judith Nink from the Federal Office for Information Security of Germany, Jurriën Norder from the Netherlands Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCC-NL), and Susanne Dehmel from Bitkom.
During the panel discussion, panelists explored the needs of essential and important entities, national competent authorities, and EUIBAs, and what assistance and resources are already available. They also discussed priorities for the European Commission’s forthcoming efforts to simplify EU cybersecurity rules, the role ENISA should play in supporting implementation, as well as how existing EU structures and public–private partnerships can be better leveraged to accelerate a concerted approach.
