Germany is set to introduce new media regulation, which is to cover online services such as social networks, search engines and video portals for the first time ever. This is a big step towards creating some transparency and accountability for big tech platforms. Yet, some open questions regarding the so-called "Interstate Media Treaty" (Medienstaatsvertrag) remain.
