Political Science perspective on the strategic dimension of information technology in the realm of state-versus-state conflict. The work transitions from an explanation of the 'cyber domain' towards national security within that domain, and ultimately to the more offensive applications and their implications for the state. The strategic analysis is enriched by case studies on the 'Olympic Games' (i. a. 'Stuxnet') and Chinese cyber security policies (i. a. 'Golden Shield') and concluded by an explorative game theory approach.
